Location: Mall St Matthews Position purpose: To maximize sales by helping customers select and purchase merchandise while exceeding the expectations of the customer. To support the Assistant and/or Associate Store Manager by overseeing the sales floor and help in the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs. Description of duties: * Maintain personal sales and achieve sales goals. * Help customers select and purchase merchandise. * Demonstrate products on customers where applicable. * Inform supervisor quickly about problems related to customer issues and/or requests. * Track retail sales against goal using the system provided. * Serve as a resource for general product knowledge to all customers and staff members. * Communicate training needs that will result in increased sales to Store Manager. * Utilize and maintain customer database for phone calls, product launches, events, and appointments in conjunction with the Company s customer program. * Identify and communicate merchandise assortment opportunities and issues to Senior management. * Help maintain a cohesive, cooperative work environment through team building and motivation. * Communicate all corporate policies and procedures to staff and ensure compliance. * Present and reinforce a professional appearance and maintain Company s appearance and dress code standard at all times. * Function as the Manager on Duty in the absence of senior management. * Follow and help implement all corporate visual presentation standards and guidelines. * Maintain all safety and security standards and identify and communicate potential problem issues. * Participate on conference calls and attend sales meetings as required. * Assist Associate and/or Store Manager to identify and recruit potential sales associates. * Assist in development of top sales professionals. * Assist with training programs for selling skills, customer service, products, and operations in conjunction with the Education Department. * Communicate training needs to Education and Senior Management. * Manage all functions to properly open and close store using Company guidelines and policies. * Help maintain clean, safe sales and stock areas and resolve maintenance issues on a timely basis. * Communicate shortage problems and incidents to the Associate and/or Store Manager. * Assist in the execution of a complete and accurate physical inventory as required. * Perform other duties as assigned and/or required. Education/Experience: Minimum Requirements: Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Cosmetology license beneficial. Experience: 1-2 years retail experience including some supervisory experience. Cosmetic experience preferred. Effort: This position requires daily use of excellent communication skills. This position requires moderate physical effort. Some unpacking and packing of materials is required when restocking the floor supplies. There may be moving and setting up of displays and other events taking place in your location. Required to spend majority of work shift standing on feet.
