Job Description

The role

Reportingto the Finance Director, this role provides an excellent opportunity forstrategic decision-making by liaising with key members of both finance andnon-finance teams, challenging their assumptions and helping them to ensure thebest rate of return for capital employed is achieved. The post-holder will be amember of the UK management team with a focus on FP&A and supporting theCorporate Finance team, contributing to a better understanding of services,products and business lines to maximise profitability.


Key deliverables

·      Lead, manage and developthe FP&A function and team

·      Manage and deliver longterm plans, annual budget and quarterly re-forecast in    conjunction with theFinance Director, senior management and business line managers

·      Lead the entire monthend process and group reporting

·      Monitor, analyse andprovide insightful commentary on monthly financial performance      (P&L,balance sheet, central costs, KPI's etc.) and variances

·      Assist in thedevelopment of suitable KPI's and analysis for the wider business

·      Monitor and provideinsightful revenue performance analysis (per fee earners, areas       and regions)

·       Provide input for andprepare financial/management information and commentary for   monthly Boardreport and other reporting

·       Manage and supportmonthly financial performance reviews with business   regions/areas  and cost centres

·       Management andpreparation of bonus calculations per individual in line with annual   salestargets

·       All financial reporting,monthly management reports, forecasts and budgeting

·       Workclosely with the Corporate Finance team to ensure accuracy of both corporate   and   management reporting

·       Support in all internaland external audits

·       Assist on acquisition, mergersand disposal

·       Lead the budget planning reforecast process, reporting andanalysis

·       Supportand business partnering with all stakeholder (Business and Central Function)

·       Review the effectivenessof internal controls covering financial, operational and       compliance matters

·       Reportregularly on risk control and initiatives to key stakeholders including Senior   Finance Leaders and CFO

·       Apply a continuousimprovement methodology to the team, processes and procedures



·        Budget, reforecast, cost analysis

·        Preparation, monitoring and revision of currentyear budgets and reforecast

·        Preparation of monthly management reports andcommentary

·        Commercial financial analysis

·        Identifies, develops opportunities to enhance thebusiness

·        Maintains and builds a number of strategic(internal) client relationships

·        Plans and manages projects requiring considerablecreativity, foresight and judgement

·        Manages projects which require cross functionalco-operation

·        Delivers projects that generate tangible benefitfor the business and (indirectly) external     clients

·        Effective liaison with other parts of BNP ParibasReal Estate is critical to success

·        Represents BNP Paribas Real Estate at external events



·        Responsible for and manages Commercial andManagement Finance team

·        Shares knowledge with/provides information tocolleagues and team

·        Coaching/mentoring of others


Systems and Process

·       Evaluates, adapts and improves standards,techniques and procedures

·       May be a project lead or contributor to BNP ParibasReal Estate UKprojects

·       Acts as the subject matter experton financial controls within the business, including         input to projects andqueries outside of finance on an ad-hoc basis


Person specification

Essential qualifications

·       Degreelevel education

·       Qualified member of an accountancy body (ACA/ACCAor CIMA) or holder of an   equivalent qualification

·       Advanced MS Office skills (particularly Excel)

·       Experience with using other reporting systems wouldbe advantageous


Essential experience

·       Substantial post-qualified experience

·       Strong business partneringskills

·       Thorough understandingof P&L activity

·       Strong accounting skills

·       Excellent communication (oraland written) and interpersonal skills

·       Strong experience ofmanagement reporting and commercial finance covering:     budgeting andforecasting, financial modelling, pricing, KPI analysis etc.

·       Excellent planning and organisational skills

·       Demonstrablerecord of delivery in a senior finance position with exposure to FP&A,   commercialfinance and corporate accounting.

·       Robustcharacter with confidence in challenging existing protocol and stakeholders
