Lehigh Cement is seeking a qualified Maintenance Supervisor.  This position will reside in Edmonton, AB. 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for the overall management of the maintenance functions of the plant. Key responsibilities include the management of maintenance systems, modification and improvement projects. Requirements include a strong background in maintenance methods, plant processes, and equipment operation.

  • Proactively manage safety and health of employees to continuously improve the company’s safety and health performance.
  • Manage the mechanical resources to provide the most efficient and cost effective operation.
  • Plan and achieve maintenance goals and objectives consistent with overall plant targets
  • Establish and manage maintenance budgets and cost control initiatives
  • Review and evaluate maintenance programs, planning and scheduling, equipment availability, supplier performance and project work
  • Manage the annual plant turnaround and equipment shutdowns
  • Implement Lehigh Hanson’s maintenance initiatives and contractor management policy
  • Provide expertise in the troubleshooting and diagnosis of plant system problems to achieve minimal disruptions in operations
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of guidelines, completion of required training, and monitoring compliance

  • Journeyperson in Millwright trade or equivalent demonstrated experience combined with related post-secondary education
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in cement manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
  • Supervisory experience required, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in the areas of preventative and predictive maintenance programs, project management and the inspection, repair and installation of equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and project management, problem solving, strategic thinking and decision making
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and safety regulations
  • Proficient with SAP, MS Office and strong computer skills
