This position is responsible for managing the production activities associated with the Annealing/Pickling Section and related water treatment facilities to assure the highest level of productivity and quality taking into consideration internal scheduling requirements.  Also is responsible for the operation of the industrial water plant, emergency generators, air compressors and boilers.



1.) Manages the Annealing/Pickling Section and related water treatment facilities for NAS.  Trains, leads and motivates subordinates to optimize man/machine interface to continuously

 improve the quality and productivity of the operating units to meet all customer demands of quality and on-time delivery. Sets productivity goals standards to align work force to meet/exceed requirements. Schedule employees (all shifts) to meet operating and customer requirements.

2.) Coordinates and collaborates with the other departmental Process Engineers/Supervisor of Cold Rolling Operations, Line Operators, Maintenance, Technical, etc. in the various activities

 necessary to schedule, process, expedite and transfer in-process material at proper efficiency and minimum cost.  Monitor flow of material through A/P area to eliminate delays on equipment waiting on coils for delivery, or to be removed from units.

3.) Coordinates and collaborates with Maintenance on planned outages, preventative maintenance, special projects, etc...for the A/P Lines to prevent delays during operation, eliminate bottlenecks

and improve quality of product as it relates to maintenance of equipment.

4.) Interacts with Technical Department to insure proper standards and procedures are followed on the AP Lines in order to obtain the proper metallurgical properties and quality of steel in process.  

5.) Manages unit costs for the A/P Lines and water treatment facilities to effectively meet or exceed financial targets.  Participate in goal setting; constantly seeks out areas for continuous improvements-implements changes or makes recommendations to management.

6.) Requires employees conformance to establish safety and housekeeping rules and procedures in order to maintain a safe and clean working environment, prevent accidents, and optimize productivity, quality and employee morale. Instructs employees in job requirements, safety practices, housekeeping rules, etc. Conducts meetings, accident/incident investigations, procedures, or makes recommendations to management to eliminate future safety problems.

7.) Supervises all production unit personnel.  Communicates company rules and practices, requires subordinates' conformance and application to established company rules and practices in regard

to attendance, performance, training, safety, etc. Investigates, settles and/or refers employee complaints to the Cold Rolling Operation's Manager as required.

8.) Maintains appropriate inventory levels for all AP Lines and supporting unit consumable to insure uninterrupted operations.  Participates in purchasing of consumables (vendor selection,

bidding, ordering parameter.)

9.) Oversees the operations of all water treatment facilities to insure all operations are within standard operating limits and output of water standards necessary to avoid environmental incidents.

Minimum of Technical Degree from approved University/College (BS/BA) and/or Work Experience necessary to perform position,

4.)      Mobility in Plant.

  1. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  2. Visual ability with or without correction.
  3. Communication ablitites.
  4. Ability to work rotating shift ( rotating from days to nights on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule).



  1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
  2. Follow Company safety rules.
  3. Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  4. Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn:
  • Safety shoes
  • Safety glasses
  • Hearing protection
  1. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy.
  2. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.
  3. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
