DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining work areas to satisfaction.
  • Coordinates work to operational staff including making changes to staffing needs as business dictates.
  • Train, explain duties, and assist in the solution of problems.
  • Assist with the implementation and coordination of special projects, not limited to physical inventories and/or new accounts.
  • Identify needs and make recommendations regarding department procedures and policy changes.
  • Present assigned data during daily start up meetings.
  • Assist with inventory control issues and corrections.
  • Take action and speak up when associates are not following proper Safety, Quality and Productivity procedures.
  • Provide input on the evaluation of employee performance, recommend employee discipline, and make promotion recommendations.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Must be able to work daily overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase productivity, quality, and efficiency in your area. Ensure established productivity and quality levels are maintained.
  • Be available to full time employees and temporary staff to be a resource, trainer, and go-to-person in your designated area.
  • Be a lead by setting an example for others through your communication, professionalism, positive attitude, and responsiveness.  Required to have excellent attendance and dependability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or general education degree required; Associates Degree preferred
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in a warehouse environment
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with a warehouse management system (WMS)
  • A minimum of two years of forklift operator experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency to resolve issues
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience in operating order picker and forklift equipment
